Paula Smolder is the Grants Project Manager, working closely with the West Virginia Veterans Home, State Veterans Nursing Facility, Donel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery, and the Charles Calvin Rogers State Veterans Nursing Facility project.
With 15 years of experience working for the State of West Virginia, Paula has developed extensive expertise in Purchasing Cards, Procurement, Human Resources, and Grants Management. Her service with the department has ensured effective financial and operational support for state programs that serve veterans.
In addition to her state service, Paula had the privilege of working as a contractor for the McLaughlin Air National Guard in Charleston, WV. As the 130th Yellow Ribbon Reintegration Program Manager, she played a vital role in assisting Airmen and their families during both pre- and post-deployment phases. She worked closely with the National Guard Bureau in Washington, D.C., to ensure that West Virginia’s servicemen and women received the highest level of support throughout their transitions.
