The West Virginia Military Hall of Fame was established to recognize veterans who distinguished themselves in service and who contributed significantly to the state and community following discharge.



The West Virginia Department of Veterans Assistance has announced that updated draft rules governing the West Virginia Military Hall of Fame are now open for public review and comment. Members of the public, veterans, service members, and advocacy organizations are invited to submit feedback on the proposed standards through September 11, 2026.

The proposed rules establish updated guidelines for the nomination, selection, and induction process for the West Virginia Military Hall of Fame, ensuring the program appropriately honors exemplary service, valor, and contributions of West Virginia veterans and military personnel.

Public comments will be accepted until 11:59PM EST on September 11, 2026.  Submissions can be made through the following channels:
