Charleston - Homeless Veteran Stand Down

In military terminology, “Stand Down” is an order to relax from a state of constant readiness or alert. Homelessness by its very nature results in extreme prolonged stress, due to the necessity of being constantly on alert, and ready to react to danger. It’s a frightening and exhausting way to live, needless to say. Each year we have an event known as the Homeless Veterans Stand Down, to give all Veterans the opportunity to take a break from their everyday stress. This event allows veterans to access a very wide variety of VA and community services in one location. Lunch will be provided along with other free services and goodies.
